A new contourism series
In 2009, after my last two solo exhibitions in Melbourne and Adelaide, I decided to have a break from exhibiting on a full-time basis and accepted an offer to become the designer for an old established jewellery house in Adelaide. Although that restricted the time I had to devote to my own art, I kept painting and experimenting with digital concepts, graphics and of course my beloved paintings. I worked on a series called Kiss,” which exposed three dimensionality, not through my raised contour lines as my Contourism paintings, but in manner that delineated the contours through colour changes in adjoining body mass, reminiscent of topographical maps. The colour interchanges produced an exciting contrast of forms which form scintillating images!
Now, in 2017, I am gearing up to begin a new exciting ‘Contourism’ flower series, as well as producing what I believe will be some stunning digital flower images.
So, if you are interested in flora, or the style of my previous body of work, I entice you to periodically follow the new progression of paintings and prints as they emerge from the studio and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or require any special prints, or, commissioned artwork for either private or commercial premises!
